Helloworld Travel says it has acquired the Williment Travel Group, a New Zealand agency focused on organising sport tours.

Helloworld Travel CEO Andrew Burnes said the company's network members would benefit from Williment's "breadth of product and experience across a wide range of sporting codes and in event management".

Williment Travel general manager Adair Cameron said the New Zealand company, which was established in 1967 by former All Black player Mick Williment, would be able to broaden its product range and distribution options.

Helloworld's statement to the market on Thursday did not disclose any financial details for the acquisition.

The company's share price lifted 2.0 cents, or 0.45 per cent, to $4.47 by 1012 AEST.
