Australian Scott Hend's flawless six-under-par 66 earned him a tie for fourth after a rain-delayed shootout at the European tour's Shenzen International in China on Monday.

The long-hitting Hend was one of six players within one shot of the lead when the final round resumed with only the last groups to finish.

But the overnight delay proved most beneficial for South Korea's Lee Soo-min who returned to birdie the 16th, eagle the par-5 17th and bogey the last for a 71 which gave him a two-stroke victory and his first European title.

Dutchman Joost Luiten and South Africa's Brandon Stone tied for second, each shooting 68.

Hend, back in the clubhouse, ended tied fourth with England's Lee Slattery (71) and France's Alexander Levy (71).

The 22-year-old Lee's win came in his sixth European Tour start and banished memories of his stumble at the Maybank Championship Malaysia, where he went into the final round with a three-shot lead but made two double-bogeys in his last three holes to finish tied second.

"I got a big chance in Malaysia but I didn't make it because I was really, really nervous. Now I made it," Lee said.

"Yesterday I was really, really nervous. We had a lot of break times and then played again so that's really good for me and I just thought about my golf and then competed until I could do it."

Along with a cheque for more than 400,000 ($A583,000), Lee, who was playing the tournament on a sponsor's invitation, also gains a European Tour exemption through the 2018 season.

"I'm really happy and really excited," Lee said. "This is really good for me and really good for my golf life. ... I really, really want to play Europe, so it's good for me."
