The winless and under-fire Sydney Sixers have received a much-needed boost, with skipper Moises Henriques among a band of key inclusions for Saturday's Big Bash League Sydney derby.
Acting captain Johan Botha confirmed Henriques would return for Saturday's clash against the Sydney Thunder at the SCG after missing the last four matches for personal reasons.
With an 0-6 record, Botha admits it's right for questions to be asked about the playing group and their set up.
But Henriques' addition, the return of Nathan Lyon from national duty and the arrival of West Indies import Carlos Brathwaite are set to inject some much-needed experience.
"He'll come into the team. That's obviously good to have, he's one of the leaders of the team," Botha said.
"Mo will come in and he'll bat wherever we send him in or need him. And he'll run around the outfield a bit to ease back into it.
"He's obviously been a really good player for a long time so that's a great addition."
Henriques, who has been capped 26 times for Australia across all formats, did not bowl in the opening two BBL games because of a hamstring niggle and his ability to bowl a couple of overs of medium pace will help the side's balance.
The Sixers have fallen dramatically after making last season's final however four of their six losses in 2017-18 have gone down to the last over.
Botha insisted they were not far off turning it around and accepted there would be scrutiny of their performance and calls for changes.
"That's fair. That's professional sport for you. If you don't get it done on the field, that's fair enough, people look at changing things," Botha said.
"For us as a group this year, all we can do is keep preparing well, hopefully get some results to ease a little bit of that.
"We expected people to say 'things have got to change', we've been so up and down.
"I was here in BBL05 and we were poor and last year we were really good and won those close games and this year we're poor again."
