"We've heard the message loud and clear - viewers want to see Hey Hey back where it belongs on Saturday nights," host Daryl Somers said in a statement on Friday.
"We can't wait to get back to the timeslot we enjoyed for so many years."

The show returned to Australian television earlier this year on the back of two successful reunion specials in 2009.
But this year's episodes, aired on Wednesday nights, failed to generate the ratings numbers Nine would have hoped for.
While 1.521 million viewers tuned into the series premiere in April, the numbers quickly dropped under 900,000 when the show went up against Ten's MasterChef.
Even a guest appearance by pop princess Kylie Minogue - her first on Australian television in 10 years - couldn't pull in the big figures, attracting just 1.17 million viewers.
Somers says the show is returning to its rightful place.
"Saturday nights are perfectly suited to the unscripted, unpredictable fun that Hey Hey is all about," he said, promising a "unique brand of home-grown entertainment that everyone can enjoy."
The show will stick to its formula with Livinia Nixon, Red Symons, John Blackman, Russell Gilbert, and Wilbur Wilde all returning, along with Plucka Duck, Ossie Ostrich and Dickie Knee and segments including Celebrity Head and Red Faces.
The show returns to Nine on Saturday, October 16, at 7.30pm.
