A new report highlights the need to further narrow the gap between the death rates from heart disease among Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.

It found that Aboriginal people experiencing their first heart attack or hospitalisation for certain heart conditions were on average 15 to 20 years younger than non-Aboriginal patients.
