Weather gives French Open organisers scheduling headache

1446 PLAY SUSPENDED FOR THE DAY

Roland Garros announced that play has been cancelled for the day due to persistent rain.

All four singles quarter-final matches that were scheduled on the showcourts are now expected to be played on Thursday.

Ticket holders will be refunded for the washed-out day by the French Tennis Federation.

1330 RAIN CONTINUES TO DELAY ACTION

Roland Garros organisers said that no quarter-final matches would take place before 1400.

1216 RAIN PLAYS SPOILSPORT AT ROOFLESS ROLAND GARROS

Rain delayed the start of play at Roland Garros on Wednesday where four singles quarter-final matches are scheduled on the main show courts. More showers are predicted through the day.

Defending champion Simona Halep meets American teenager Amanda Anisimova on Court Philippe Chatrier before Novak Djokovic plays Alexander Zverev.

Madison Keys takes on Australia's Ashleigh Barty to begin proceedings on Court Suzanne Lenglen. Fourth seed Dominic Thiem then squares off against Karen Khachanov.
