Hockeyroos name squads for NT and London

The Hockeyroos have named two squads for the tournaments in Darwin and London as they look to finalise their line up for the Rio Olympics.

Hockeyroos skipper Madonna Blyth is to miss the looming four-nation tournament in Darwin due to a calf injury but is expected to return for next month's Champions Trophy in London.

Hockeyroos coach Adam Commens announced squads of 18 for each tournament on Tuesday, giving players the chance to cement places in the Rio Olympics team.

Darwin's International Hockey Open has Australia lining up against New Zealand, Japan and India from May 31 until June 4.

"With Madonna and Mariah (Williams, knee) unavailable due to injury for this tournament, we are hopeful that they will be available for the Champions," said Commens.

The Champions Trophy in London from June 18-26 features Australia, the US, New Zealand, Argentina, the Netherlands and Great Britain.

Hockeyroos for International Hockey Open: Edwina Bone, Jane Claxton, Kirsten Dwyer, Anna Flanagan, Jodie Kenny, Rachael Lynch, Karri McMahon, Georgina Morgan, Gabrielle Nance, Georgia Nanscawen, Georgina Parker, Brooke Peris, Casey Sablowski, Kathryn Slattery, Emily Smith, Grace Stewart, Ashlee Wells, Kellie White.
