A half century from Josh Inglis ensured one-day cup holders Western Australia made it two wins from two starts with a comfortable five-wicket win over South Australia at the WACA on Saturday.
WA passed the victory target with a six and with 4.5 overs to spare after restricting South Australia to a modest 9-237 on a flat batting wicket.
The home's sides successful run-chase was built around the third-wicket partnership of 75 between Inglis (50) and Ashton Turner (47).
Hilton Cartwright (44) and Jonathon Wells (43 not out) then shared a 76-run stand for the fifth-wicket to push WA in sight of victory, though they ultimately missed a bonus point after failing to pass the victory target inside 40 overs.
Reliable wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey (58 off 59 balls) was the only South Australia batsman to pass 50, with fellow opener Jake Weatherald unable to follow up his midweek century and was dismissed for a duck.
Sent in to bat after losing the toss, South Australia showed none of the run-scoring fluency on display against New South and they soon slipped to 5-128 with the dismissal of new captain Jake Lehmann (26).
Alex Ross (36) and Cameron Valente (47) put on 72 for the sixth wicket, but the WA attack remained on top.
Test aspirants Nathan Coulter-Nile (3-46) Jhye Richardson returned 3-46 and 1-41 respectively, while Andrew Tye collected 3-49, including the wicket of Carey.
The result leaves Western Australia equal with Tasmania at the top of the standings but ahead on run-rate.
