As a two-year-old Mowgli mixed it with Speak Fondly but her trainer Clarry Conners has lowered his sights with the filly this time around.
Speak Fondly crowned a stellar spring campaign with victory in Saturday's Group One Flight Stakes at Randwick while Mowgli will try to break her maiden at Warwick Farm on Monday.
In the autumn, Mowgli finished fourth in the Sweet Embrace Stakes in which Speak Fondly was second.
Mowgli then ran eighth, 3-1/4 lengths from the winner, Speak Fondly, in the Magic Night Stakes.
The Gai Waterhouse-trained Speak Fondly's four spring starts have netted wins in the Silver Shadow and Tea Rose Stakes as well as a second to Exosphere in the Golden Rose before her Flight win.
Mowgli's spring has so far consisted of two starts in provincial maidens for a third at Wyong and second at Newcastle.
She lines up as topweight in the 1300m-maiden for three-year-old fillies and will jump from a midfield gate.
"She has to carry 59 kilos but she is at her home track which is an advantage," Conners said.
"Her barrier isn't the best but she gets back so it shouldn't worry her too much.
"It would be nice if she could get that win on the board."
Mowgli is a $15 chance with punters expecting the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Ravi to make amends for her fourth on debut as favourite at Warwick Farm last month.
To be ridden by Tommy Berry, Ravi is at $2.60 with the TAB.
The Bjorn Baker-trained Zaratone will drop in grade from Group Two racing to run in the 1000m-open sprint.
After Rory Hutchings' 1.5kg claim, the 10-year-old will carry 61.5kg.
The front-running grey has been freshened up since his sixth, beaten less than three lengths, in the Warwick Stakes won by Royal Descent in August.
