Japanese automaker Honda Motor Corp. has announced it's recalling cars because of potential breaking issues.
The owners of almost 1,000 2005 model, Honda MDX SUVs sold in Australia have been notified to contact their dealer and have their cars checked.
The automaker said the local recall was prompted by reported cases in Japan, and confirmed there have been no reported accidents and injuries relating to the defect.

The breaking issue has been identified as a wiring problem in the vehicle stability assist (VSA) system. The malfunction results in a small amount of brake force being applied when the driver is not touching the pedal, or too much force when the driver is applying the brakes.
Over 180,000 cars in the US and 57,000 Japanese vehicles have also been recalled.
