Horses chase down hoon driver in Perth

West Australian police horses have helped chase down an alleged hoon driver through the streets of Perth.

An alleged hoon driver has been chased down by two Perth police horses in a wild Saturday night scene in Western Australia's capital.

Shortly after 1am (WST) on Sunday morning, two police horses and their riders were on patrol on Beaufort St when the driver of a Nissan Skyline performed a burnout in front of them.

Horses Blaze and Winnie gave chase to the car, while the riders alerted a nearby police vehicle and gave updates on which way the vehicle was driving.

The car was soon intercepted on Money St by the Perth officers, with the horses arriving shortly after.

The vehicle was impounded for 28 days and the driver will face traffic charges.
