Hot Curry helps Warriors to NBA win

The Warriors kept on their roll - as did Stephen Curry with 51 points - as Golden State downed Orlando in the NBA.

Reigning league MVP Stephen Curry fired in 51 points, leading the league-best Golden State Warriors to a 130-114 road victory over the Orlando Magic on Thursday.

Hot Curry shot 20-of-27 from the field, including 10-of-15 from behind the arc, to go along with seven assists and eight rebounds in just 34 minutes.

The league's top scorer set an NBA-record in the opening quarter for most consecutive games with a three-pointer, with 128, eclipsing the previous mark owned by Atlanta's Kyle Korver.

Reserve Marreese Speights scored 14 points, Australian Andrew Bogut and Draymond Green totalled 12 apiece for the league champ Warriors (52-5), who are chasing the NBA-all-time mark of 72 wins set by the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls.

After a sparkling 42-points performance in Wednesday's win over Miami, Curry raised his game to another level, carrying the fatigued Warriors to their 15th win in the last 16 games.

The Magic led 63-59 at halftime behind Evan Fournier's 17 points.

Curry had 22 at the break and lit up the Magic for 24 in the third quarter, including a banked-in, buzzer-beating three-pointer from just over mid-court stripe.

The Warriors took a 99-91 advantage into the final frame and stayed comfortably in front to move to 5-1 on their seven-game road trip.

Orlando (25-31) were led by Fournier with 20 points, while Aaron Gordon added a career-high 19.

- Houston Rockets 119, Portland Trail Blazers 105: James Harden poured in 34 of his 46 points after intermission, and the visiting Rockets (29-29) rallied from 21 down in the third quarter to snap the Blazers' season-high six-game winning streak.

Damian Lillard had 23 points for Portland (30-28), who were outscored 70-41 in the second half.

- New Orleans Pelicans 123, Oklahoma City Thunder 119: Anthony Davis scored 30 points, Ryan Anderson had 26, and the host Pelicans (23-34) withstood OKC's dynamic duo to silence the visiting Thunder.

Russell Westbrook scored 44 points and Kevin Durant had 32 with 14 rebounds for Oklahoma City (41-17), who stormed from 12 down late in the fourth quarter to within two before falling for the third time in four games.

- San Antonio Spurs 96, Utah Jazz 78: Kawhi Leonard scores 29, Frenchman Tony Parker added 16 and Patty Mills 11, and the visiting Spurs (49-9) pulled away to beat the Jazz for their 10th win in 11 games.
