House prices continue to slip nationally

Home values fell slightly across the five major capital cities last week, with dips in Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane.

Melbourne and Perth were the only major capital cities to escape a property price dip last week, with average national home values falling half a per cent over the month.

Home values across the five major capital cities fell by an average of 0.1 per cent in the week to June 11, and 0.5 per cent for the previous 28 days, with Sydney's average price dipping 0.2 per cent over the week and 0.8 per cent over the month, according to property analytics firm CoreLogic.

Prices in Melbourne inched 0.1 per cent higher but are still down one per cent over the past month, while values in Perth rose 0.8 per cent for the week, lifting them 1.9 per cent higher over the month.
