Police released a timeline of events surrounding the alleged passenger jet bomb threat in Melbourne.

HOW THE MELBOURNE JET BOMB THREAT UNFOLDED

Wednesday, May 31

11:26pm: Malaysia Airlines flight 128 bound for Kuala Lumpur leaves Melbourne

11.34pm: A man screams he has a bomb and tries to enter the cockpit; he's restrained by passengers; pilot turns the plane around.

11:37pm: Australian Federal Police advised

11.41pm - The plane lands safely at Melbourne; other flights diverted to other airports.

]11:38pm - Melbourne AFP Aviation advised

11:39pm - AFP notified Victoria Police

11:43pm - AFP established Police Forward Command at Gate 27, as MH128 taxied to a secure position on the tarmac.

11:53pm- Victoria Police's Special Operations Group (SOG) notified

11:55pm - Victoria Police general duties arrive

Thursday, June 1

12.23am: - SOG and Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) arrive

12:34am - Formal handover of operational command to Victoria Police

01.21am - Police enter plane

around 9.30am - Passengers released from airport

1:30pm: Manodh Marks charged with threatening to blow up the Malaysian Airlines flight, faced two charges against the Crimes Aviation Act

4pm: Marks appears in Melbourne Magistrates Court, remanded to reappers August 24.
