Mr Williamson is suspended as president of the Health Services Union (HSU).

The HSU has been temporarily kicked out of the union movement following allegations of misuse of members' money.

Mr Williamson's resignation has been accepted by the executive of the organisation.

Charges of corruption have been levelled against Mr Williamson, but he denies all the allegations.
