Hundreds gather for Brabham funeral

Mourners have begun arriving for the state funeral of three-time Formula One champion Jack Brabham on the Gold Coast.

Hundreds of people including Australian motorsport champions have gathered for the state funeral of Sir Jack Brabham on the Gold Coast.

Ex-Formula One world champion Alan Jones and former V8 Supercars champion James Courtney are among the mourners attending the ceremony at Southport's Church of Christ.

Brabham, a three-time Formula One world champion, died at his Gold Coast home on May 19. He was 88.

Brabham's sons Matthew and Geoffrey, as well as Queensland premier Campbell Newman, will be among those to give tributes to Sir Jack in Wednesday's service.
