Two men have been charged after a car search in western Sydney uncovered more than 300 allegedly stolen credit cards.

The pair, aged 24 and 25, were travelling along a Rooty Hill road after 3am on Saturday when they were stopped by police.

More than 300 credit cards and personal identification documents were uncovered in the vehicle, along with 500 letters, several letterbox keys and clothing, police say.

The 25-year-old was arrested and refused bail, and will appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday on 23 charges, including dishonestly obtaining property by deception.

The 24-year-old was charged with possessing identification information to commit an offence and granted conditional bail to appear in Mt Druitt Local Court on September 19.
