Hunt admits rethink on climate bodies

Environment Minister Greg Hunt says Malcolm Turnbull wants to use the Australian Renewable Energy Agency and Clean Energy Finance Corporation.

The Turnbull government appears unlikely to scrap the Australian Renewable Energy Agency and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation.

The two bodies, which the previous Abbott government wanted to abolish, are now the responsibility of Environment Minister Greg Hunt following a ministry reshuffle by new Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

Mr Hunt has told ABC radio the government accepts the Senate wants to keep the agencies, so he and Mr Turnbull intend making the "best use of these organisations".
