Brisbane halfback Ben Hunt's horror grand final night has got worse after being hit with a grade-two dangerous throw charge by the NRL match review committee.

Hunt could miss the opening two games of next season for his 77th minute lifting tackle on North Queensland centre Kane Linnett.

He will only miss one match if he takes the early guilty plea.

Teammate Adam Blair was charged for his careless high tackle on Cowboys hooker Jake Granville, however will escape suspension should he take the early guilty plea.
