Hunt for Qld woman fails to yield clues

A search of a dam and creek on a rural Queensland property hasn't uncovered any clues about the whereabouts of a 20-year-old woman missing for eight days.

A search of waterways and a dam on a property in rural Queensland has yielded no clues to the whereabouts of a young Aboriginal woman.

Investigators haven't ruled out suspicious circumstances in the disappearance of 20-year-old Bianca Gawne, last seen at the property she shares with her family in Tandur, south of Gympie, eight days ago.

Police have searched the large property including a creek and a dam but found nothing of interest.

No searches are planned for Thursday but officers are still making enquiries and could conduct further searches.

Investigators are keeping an open mind about what may have happened but concerns for Ms Gawne's welfare are growing.

Roslyn Lewis said her granddaughter's disappearance was completely out of character.

"She would never do this," Ms Lewis told reporters.

"Bianca if you are listening ... please call us, let us know that you are fine and whatever the problem is we can sort it out."

Ms Gawne was last seen at the Tandur property sometime between 7pm and 8pm on Wednesday last week. She was reported missing the next day.

She is 163cm tall and of medium build with black shoulder length hair and brown eyes.
