'I feel bad for Harvey Weinstein': Lindsay Lohan defends Hollywood mogul accused of sexual harassment

Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan has defended producer Harvey Weinstein as accusations of sexual assault and harassment continue to emerge.

In a since deleted Instagram video, Lindsay Lohan says she "feels bad for Harvey Weinstein right now".

Filming herself in her home in Dubai, Lohan continued: “I don’t think it’s right what’s going on.”

She also said Weinstein’s wife Georgina Chapman, who has announced she'll be filing for divorce, needs to "take a stand and be there for her husband".

"He's never done anything to me and we've done several movies together. And so I think everybody needs to stop, I think it's wrong, so stand-up," Lohan said in the video.

Weinstein is accused of sexually assaulting and harassing a string of women over the past few decades.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie are the latest actresses to claim they had been sexually harassed by him.

Lohan has starred in several Weinstein Company films, including 'Bobby' and 'Scary Movie 5'.

Her video has sparked outrage on Twitter.

Long-term fans now distancing themselves from the actress while others have accused her of staging a publicity stunt.

SBS News has contacted Lohan's management for comment.
