I followed Abbott on Malaysia: Morrison

Scott Morrison says he acted in accordance with his then-leader's instructions on the Malaysia solution.

Treasurer Scott Morrison says he was only following Tony Abbott's orders when the coalition helped block the Gillard government's Malaysia solution.

Mr Abbott has admitted he should have backed the-then Labor government's bill to override a decision by the High Court to quash it.

"I acted in accordance with my leader's instructions," Mr Morrison told Sky News on Thursday, when asked if he also regretted the decision.
