US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says his lewd comments about women were "wrong" and he pledges to "be a better man".
"I said it. I was wrong. I apologise," Trump says in a video statement he posted on Facebook. "People who know me know this isn't me."
Trump says he has changed, and the story about the comments he made is "nothing more than a distraction from the important issues we are facing today".
