In the video recorded by Chris Traber - a motorcyclist kicks the driver's side door of a silver car, which sets off a chain of events on the 14 Freeway north of Los Angeles.
The silver car swerves towards the motorcyclist, hits a cement divider, loses control and then slams into a pickup truck. The pickup truck flips over on impact.
The driver of the truck, Carlos Benavidez, survived with a gash to his head. He was taken to hospital.
"I saw my world coming to an end... to be honest with you," Benavidez said to CBS. "When I felt the impact and the truck spun out from beside me and I started to roll, I saw nothing but asphalt and sky."

Traber told ABC News that the motorcyclist was provoked after nearly getting hit in the fast lane by the silver sedan.
