Julie Bishop doesn't reckon she will have a tough conversation with deposed prime minister Tony Abbott when the two finally talk.

The deputy Liberal leader said Mr Abbott is aware of how Liberal leadership changes occurred given he has been part of several.

"I'd be very happy to have a conversation with Tony Abbott at any time ... I don't think it will be a tough conversation," Ms Bishop told ABC television.
