'I would like to make my family proud': Australia's rising badminton star

Tiffany Ho is surging up Badminton's world rankings - the 19-year-old is currently Australia's second-highest ranked women's player.

Coach Brian Koentjoro believes she can become one of the sport's elite players.

"I think she can reach the top 20 in the world," Koentjoro said.

"Obviously there's a lot of hard work to get there."

Ho is on track to represent Australia at next year's Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.

"It would mean a lot, I've worked really hard for almost 10 years now," Ho said.

Following that, she hopes to realise a childhood dream by playing at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

"I would like to make my family proud," Ho said.

"(I would like to) inspire younger kids as well and show that even though they might not be the best at the moment they can work hard for it and they can get to that point as well."
