ICC releases draw for CWC qualifying games

The draw for the Cricket World Cup qualifying tournament is made with the final to be played at Lincoln's Bert Sutcliffe Oval.

Lincoln's Bert Sutcliffe Oval will host the final of the qualifying tournament for the last two places in the Cricket World Cup in 2015.

The International Cricket Council released the draw for the New Zealand-hosted qualifying tournament in January on Wednesday with 10 teams vying to join the 12 teams that have already booked their places in the tournament proper.

The teams are split into two pools of five with matches spread across Lincoln, Rangiora, Christchurch, Queenstown, Mt Maunganui and New Plymouth with the top three teams progressing to the super six stage.

The top two teams from that round-robin phase in Lincoln and at Hagley Oval go directly to the final on February 1. Both finalists will advance to the 2015 event jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

"This event will give the country a taste of what is to come with the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2015," said ICC president Alan Isaac.

Entry to all matches will be free.

United Arab Emirates are the top-ranked team and others competing are Netherlands, Hong Kong, Canada, Kenya, Namibia, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Scotland and Uganda.
