ICRC condemns Syria movement restrictions

The ICRC says many Syrians will suffer unless it's given access to many parts of the country from which it's currently being excluded.

The International Committee of the Red Cross says the humanitarian situation in Syria is catastrophic and is affecting millions of displaced civilians.

The Committee says health supplies, food and other basic necessities are running dangerously short, especially in areas controlled by opposition forces.

Speaking from Damascus, ICRC spokesman Simon Schorno says many Syrians will continue to suffer unless security is improved in the region.

He told Hannah Sinclair the ICRC is currently being blocked from reaching many parts of the country.
