I'm not an ideological leader, PM says

Malcolm Turnbull has spurned suggestions he should change his leadership style to accommodate disgruntled conservative voters.

Malcolm Turnbull isn't about to change the way he governs because of Donald Trump's triumph in the US presidential election.

Conservatives within the coalition government argue the nationalistic and populist movement that carried Mr Trump to the White House will find its way to Australia.

"You've got to be true to yourself, I am who I am, I'm a practical, pragmatic leader, I'm not an ideological leader," Mr Turnbull told Neil Mitchell on 3AW radio on Friday.
