Andreas Steindl took the road less travelled across the Alps on Wednesday, sprinting across five peaks in less than eight hours.
The 26-year-old former carpenter finished the 30.66km route across five 4000m mountains in seven hours and 45 minutes.
The ambitious run included scaling the Matterhorn and The Dom, the highest mountain based entirely in Switzerland.
Steindl, an adidas outdoor athlete, told the brand that he was sore, but satisfied.
“I just wanted to do my best, but I never expected such a time,” he said.

“In the beginning I thought my watch is faulty. It was an amazing day for me. I am tired but satisfied and happy.
“You cannot top such a perfect day in the mountains. And now it has been captured it forever.”
