India beat England in women's T20 warm-up

Harmanpreet Kaur has smashed an unbeaten 62 for India as they beat England by 11 runs in their final warm-up clash for the Women's World T20.

India have beaten England by 11 runs in their final warm-up match in Guyana before the Women's World T20 tournament starts this week.

India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur proved to be the match-winner on Wednesday, smashing an unbeaten 62 off 32 balls to lift her side to 6-144.

Opener Danielle Wyatt led England's challenge with a half-century off 53 deliveries but wickets fell at regular intervals.

Poonam Yadav took 3-20, while Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav took two wickets apiece.

Lauren Winfield, batting at No.6, made a 19 off 14 balls but when she was caught by Jemimah Rodrigues off Dayalan Hemalatha at the end of the second-last over with 18 still needed, the game was up.

India get the Women's World T20 tournament under way in Guyana on Friday against Group B rivals New Zealand, England play their first Group A match in St Lucia on Saturday against Sri Lanka, and Australia take on Pakistan in their Group B clash on Saturday.
