Indian officials in Kerala state say 105 fishermen remain missing after the deadly tropical cyclone whichpummelled India's west coast late last month.
Hundreds of fishermen had set out to sea in small boats before the cyclone triggered strong winds and heavy rains along the coasts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and the Lakshwadeep islands between November 29 and December 6.
While some managed to reach safety, more than 200 others were rescued by Navy, Coast Guard and Air Force vessels and aircraft over the next two weeks.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting the areas affected by cyclone Ockhi in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Lakshwadeep to take stock of the damage and relief and rescue operations.
The Kerala government has decided to intensify the search for the missing fishermen, state disaster management official PH Kurien said.
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday with representatives of fishermen's unions, boat owners' associations and the Latin Catholic Church, to which most of the fishermen belong.
The federal Home Ministry said the official death toll in the cyclone, which brought heavy rainfall and high-speed winds was 88: 70 from Kerala state and 18 from Tamil Nadu.
