The Black Caps will play another day-night Test when they tour India later this year.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India says a pink ball Test will be scheduled as part of New Zealand's three-Test and five-ODI tour.
"We have decided that we will play one day-night Test match with pink ball against New Zealand later this year," secretary Anurag Thakur told media on Friday (NZT).
Cricinfo reported that the pink ball is yet to be trialled in India, where dew could be a concern under lights.
The domestic Duleep Trophy competition will serve as a trial run for Indian cricketers before the Test.
"While we have not zeroed in on the venue, there are lots of factors that need to be taken into account," Thakur said.
"Things like dew factor, how the spinners bowl with the pink Kookaburra on Indian pitches. These things we will get an idea [of] during the Duleep Trophy."
Last year's Australia-New Zealand pink ball Test in Adelaide was rated the most successful of the summer, attracting more than 120,000 spectators over the three days.
However, players reported struggles with the visibility of the ball and changing conditions.
The highest team total was 224, which came in Australia's first innings that lasted only 72.1 overs.
The Black Caps were beaten in a tense three-wicket win, with Australia chasing down 187 late on day three.
Cricket Australia's new-look 2016/17 schedule has a day-night Test scheduled for December 15 at the Gabba in Brisbane against Pakistan.
Another day-night Test has been pencilled in for the Adelaide Oval against South Africa, although the South African players are reluctant to commit due to concerns over the pink ball.
