India wrap up series win over Windies

India held their nerve on the very last ball to beat West Indies by six wickets in their third Twenty20 cricket clash in Chennai and sweep the series 3-0.

India beat West Indies by six wickets in a thrilling final over in Chennai to complete a 3-0 Twenty20 International series win.

Having won the toss and chosen to bat first on Sunday, the West Indies started well, putting on 51 in powerplay before an explosive unbeaten 54 in 24 balls from Nicholas Pooran and a 43 not out from Darren Bravo took the visitors to 3-181.

India lost captain Rohit Sharma early in the run chase, but his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan top scored for India with 92 before he was caught at long on with just one run to win. He was supported by Rishabh Pant, who scored 58 of their 130-run partnership.

West Indies nearly achieved a dramatic tie but fell just short as Fabian Allen could not defend five runs in the last over, and India won by one run on what appeared to be a batsman-friendly surface to complete the series whitewash.
