A small group of people from the Kimberley and Pilbara regions are being forced to camp in bushland in Perth, because they can't get anywhere to live.
Each person needs emergency accommodation and receives medical treatment, but they've been told they might have to wait for up to three years before they can be permanently housed.
Roy and his wife both suffer from diabetes and moved to Perth for medical treatment. The couple applied for a home through the Department of Public Housing, but bad timing meant they missed out on securing accommodation.
"[In] 2011 I was gone too long in Jigalong for funerals and law business that's why I missed out ," he told NITV.
Roy now lives in a patch of bushland in a suburb of Perth called Mirrabooka.
"Around here, this bush here, I been here for around 6 months."
Although the set-up for the almost 30 homeless people in the Perth bush is not ideal, it certainly beats the alternative of inner city homelessness.
"I [had] been living in the streets in the city first, [but] living around there [was] too much trouble - getting jail and that - so I thought I'll go out live in the bush where it more quiet."
