Indigenous opera singer heads abroad

The dream of living overseas and becoming a famous singer is almost a reality for Indigenous opera singer Don Bemrose.

Opening the Dreamtime AFL Match in language in 2011, Bemrose is now taking his voice to the next level, as has just been accepted into a prestigious artist's residency in London.

"In the last three years I've graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts, I've worked with Deborah Cheetham on Pecan Summer and I had a lead role in that for the first two seasons and I've now gone on to work with Opera Australia with two contracts, so I think my ten-year goal has been squashed into three".

Don Bemorse has also been offered a life time opportunity to sing with renowned Opera Coach Raymond Connell.
