Indigenous runner safe in Boston marathon blast

The founder of the Indigenous Marathon Project, Rob de Castella, says a young Indigenous runner taking part in the Boston Marathon has been located and is safe.

 

Police in the United States say at least three people have been killed and dozens others injured after two explosions struck near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.

 

Darwin athlete Emma Cameron was one of the 27-thousand runners taking part in one of the world's oldest marathons.

De Castella, a former Boston Marathon winner himself, says she was taking part in her first marathon as part of the Indigenous Marathon Project.

 

Speaking from Boston, he's told Santilla Chingaipe, the group was separated for some time before they finally located Emma.
