Gold Coast winger Anthony Don admits his team's individual skill and execution is not up to standard as the Titans prepare for their first home game since the first round.
The Titans sit 11th with a 3-4 NRL record ahead of Saturday's clash against Cronulla, the weekend's frustrating loss to North Queensland still burning Don and his teammates.
"It's not too hard to see that we played really badly for our standard," Don said.
"That's the overwhelming feeling, just letting everyone down."
Don believes it was one-out efforts that were to blame against the Cowboys and in Penrith the week prior.
"A lot of little lapses between individuals; we turned over a lot of ball and missed some crucial one-on-one tackles," the 2017 club's best and fairest said.
"It's all stuff that is easily fixed but we need our individuals to be better this week."
Those lapses have already cost regular five-eighth Kane Elgey his spot in the team, the local junior relegated to Queensland Cup and utility Bryce Cartwright set to wear the No.6.
It is the biggest call of rookie coach Garth Brennan's season as the side attempts to shrug off the tag as the NRL's worst defensive team.
"There's areas in everyone's game that need improvement ... I've got a lot of improvements I need to make in attack and defence," Don said in reference to Elgey's demotion.
"You build combinations as you go, but if the coaches feel that they want to put someone else in there, that's what their job is," Don said.
The Sharks fixture will be the first at CBus Super Stadium since round one, with the team taking games to Toowoomba and Gladstone while the Commonwealth Games took over the Gold Coast.
