Cameron Boyce is the sole player with senior international experience to be picked in the Cricket Australia XI to take on the West Indies in a four-day tour match at Allan Border Field in Brisbane, starting December 2.
Boyce, who has played five Twenty20 matches for Australia, is one of five Queenslanders named in the squad alongside Nick Stevens, Michael Neser, James Bazley and James Peirson, who will captain the side.
"This will be a good leadership opportunity for James Peirson who most recently played in the CA XI squad in the Matador One Day Cup, and has also represented Australia in the national Under 19 squad," Greg Chappell, who is Cricket Australia's current talent manager, said.
"James currently captains the Queensland Academy of Sport 2nd XI in the Toyota Futures League and has performed admirably at this level.
"We expect this opportunity will allow him to build on that experience."
Victorian Matthew Short, who made his first-class debut in the abandoned match against New Zealand, is the only man to hold his spot from the October fixture.
Tasmanian Jordan Silk is the second most experienced player behind Boyce with 21 first-class matches while teenager Jake Carder is one of a number of players plucked from the Futures League.
