Australian swingman Joe Ingles has turned in an impressive all-round performance including a moment of "pure luck" in Utah's thumping 139-105 NBA win over San Antonio.

Ingles had 11 points, seven assists, three rebounds and three steals for the Jazz, while countryman Dante Exum came off the bench late to chip in with seven points.

It became abundantly clear it was going to be a good night for Ingles and the Jazz when the Australian tried to lob a pass to centre Rudy Gobert in the third quarter and instead swished it from 22 feet.

"That was pure luck," he admitted.

Ingles was part of an even scoring spread from the Jazz, who also got 20 points from Donovan Mitchell.

Gobert had 18 points and 10 rebounds, while veteran guard Kyle Korver scored 15 in his first home game since being traded to Utah from Cleveland.

"He gets his shot off in a half a second. It helps us to have another guy who can really space the floor and knock them down," said Ingles of Korver.

DeMar DeRozan scored 16 points and dished out seven assists, and LaMarcus Aldridge added 16 points to lead San Antonio, who lost for the third time in four games.

Australian guard Patty Mills chimed in with eight points for the Spurs.

The Spurs lost by more than 30 points just five times in Gregg Popovich's first 1,758 regular-season games as head coach.

It has now happened three times in the last four games.

"We're very challenged defensively," Popovich said.

Luka Doncic scored 21 points and Wesley Matthews added 17 as the Dallas Mavericks won for the ninth time in 11 games, beating the Portland Trail Blazers 111-102.

Damian Lillard scored 25 of his 33 points in the second half as Portland tried, but failed, to rally from a deficit that was mostly double digits through almost all the first three quarters.

Myles Turner matched his season high with 18 points and added 11 rebounds and five blocked shots as Indiana won 96-90, spoiling the debut of new Chicago coach Jim Boylen.

Darren Collison had 23 points and eight rebounds for Indiana.

Buddy Hield (20 points) was one of seven Sacramento players in double figures as the Kings beat the Phoenix Suns 122-105.

Aaron Gordon scored 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Orlando beat Miami 105-90.
