Ingles' Jazz eye NBA injury returns

Ricky Rubio and Derrick Favors are both a chance to return from injury when Utah Jazz attempt to level their NBA playoffs series against the Houston Rockets.

Joe Ingles may get much-needed help when the Utah Jazz meet the Houston Rockets in Game 4 of their NBA Western Conference semi-final series.

Guard Ricky Rubio and forward-centre Derrick Favors are both a chance to return from injury when the Jazz attempt to level the series against the top seeds at 2-2 in Salt Lake City on Sunday (Monday AEST).

Rubio strained a hamstring as Utah closed out Oklahoma City in the first round, and Favors sprained an ankle on Friday night as the Rockets routed the Jazz 113-92.

The Jazz hope the injured players are able to lessen the pressure on rookie star Donovan Mitchell and Australian forward Ingles, who have borne the brunt of the Rockets' defensive attention in their absence.

Rubio, finishing his first season with the Jazz after never making the postseason in six seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves, is averaging 14 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in this post-season. He averaged a career-high 13.1 points per game in the regular season.

Favors is averaging 10 points, five rebounds and more than a block a game while shooting 58.7 percent from the field in Utah's playoff run.
