Ingles ruled out of England netball series

Diamonds midfielder Emma Ingles will be replaced by Perth captain Ashleigh Brazill with a calf injury ruling the veteran out of the England netball series.

Diamonds veteran Renae Ingles has been ruled out of Australia's netball series against England in January after failing to overcome a calf injury.

The midcourter, injured in Australia's successful Constellation Cup campaign against New Zealand, will be replaced by Perth captain Ashleigh Brazill.

"While it was a difficult decision to make, I know that it's the right decision for my career," Ingles said.

Brazill's call-up caps off a dream year.

She made her national debut in the Constellation Cup, three years after injury cruelled her first selection in the Australian squad.

"Getting my debut in Melbourne has really given me the drive to get back on court. I am thrilled to get another opportunity to play for our country," Brazill said.

"The circumstances are unfortunate and I really feel for Renae. I wish her a speedy and full recovery."

The three-Test series begins on January 20 in Liverpool.
