Queensland coach Kevin Walters is breathing a sigh of relief after superstar Greg Inglis was cleared of an incident in which he appeared to strike Kenny Edwards' head with a forearm.
South Sydney skipper Inglis was not charged by the NRL match review committee for the incident in the first half of his side's emotional 22-20 win over Parramatta on Friday night.
Edwards lay on the ground for several minutes after appearing to cop a forearm to the head from Inglis, who was penalised but not put on report.
With just one round to play before the State of Origin series opener on June 1, a charge could have rubbed out Inglis and compounded the Maroons' already hefty injury toll in the outside backs.
Meanwhile, Eels and NSW enforcer Beau Scott will be free to play next week despite being hit with a grade one tripping charge on Rabbitohs halfback Adam Reynolds.
Scott will be free to take on Melbourne in Monday week's crunch clash at Pirtek stadium after being cited for a grade one trip for a 76th minute incident.
Scott's Eels teammate Isaac de Gois was also charged with a grade one trip, on Bunnies rake Cameron McInnes, and will also be free to take on the Storm.
