Injured man charged with Cairns murder

A man who allegedly stabbed his partner to death in Cairns will face a court hearing from his hospital bed.

A man who was found bloodied and injured at his Cairns home has been charged with stabbing his partner to death.

The 47-year-old is facing one charge of murder after police found the body of his partner, Crystal Ratcliffe, at their Woree home last Thursday.

The accused also had life-threatening stab wounds and was revived by paramedics before being taken to the Cairns Hospital, where he's still being treated.

He'll face a bedside hearing on Tuesday, accused of killing his 38-year-old partner.

It's been reported the pair had two children, who arrived home from school last week to find the Woree property taped off and police combing the scene.

The community is rallying around the couple's teenage son and daughter, with a fundraising drive so far generating more than $2000.

Kangaroos Rugby League Club coach Jim Millar, who coached the son, says the siblings need all the help they can get.

"Being only 16 & 13 years old they are going to require support from the community to ensure their needs are cared for," he writes on the page.

"There has been an outpouring of grief for Cyrstal and great emotional support for these two kids. It's time to dig deep to for these two wonderful children."
