NSW captain Ruan Sims has ruled herself out of the inaugural Women's State of Origin after undergoing hand surgery and preparing for a nose operation.
Sims was set to lead the Blues against Queensland at North Sydney Oval on June 22 but revealed her multiple knocks would relegate her to the sidelines.
"Unfortunately this has ruled me out," Sims told the Nine Network on Monday night.
"I went in for surgery on Thursday and had a plate put into my fifth metacarpal - I had a spiral fracture which was unstable and the surgeon needed to fix it.
"Then also next week I'll be going in to get my nose operated on as well."

Sims revealed she broke her nose while playing last weekend and moved it back into place herself.
"The surgeon was actually quite impressed with my work," she said.
"I did a pretty good job. I missed it the first time and looked up at our hooker and said 'Kylie (Hilder), does my nose still look broken? ... Kezzy said she heard it crack back into place when we were standing in the scrum.
"So it was a big weekend of footy. Stitches, broken nose and broken hand."
Queensland travel to Sydney bidding to reclaim long-time dominance ceded to NSW in the last two years.
The former Interstate Challenge will garner unprecedented exposure as a stand-alone fixture as part of the NRL representative weekend and two days before Origin II.
