Injury-free Harris fighting fit for NRL GF

After a wretched season of injuries Melbourne Storm back-rower Tohu Harris is feeling fresh heading into the NRL grand final clash against North Queensland.

If there's an upside to an injury-ravaged start to the season it's that Melbourne back-rower Tohu Harris couldn't be more fresh heading into the NRL grand final.

Harris missed 13 games this season with a broken foot and then rotator cuff complaint - in stark contrast to his previous four years when he played 103 of a possible 110 games in purple.

But in the lead-up to the title decider against North Queensland, the 25-year-old has been amongst Melbourne's best.

In their thumping preliminary final win over Brisbane Harris clocked 41 tackles, eclipsing the Storm's usual tackling machine Cameron Smith by nine.

"I missed a lot of games so I haven't had that week-to-week toll on the body," Harris said.

"In terms of the load I've had, the body is feeling really good at the moment so I'm really excited for this weekend."

Harris has signed a four-year deal to join the Warriors but says he has no qualms about leaving the Storm for the under-performing Auckland side.

"I've got no regrets - we made the decision for our family so our one-year-old can grow up around more family in New Zealand," the ball-playing back-rower said.

Harris also has the World Cup to look forward to after he was sensationally dumped from the 2013 edition when superstar Sonny Bill Williams backflipped on his availability and took his place in the squad.

"That's out of my control but I haven't really thought too hard about," Harris said.

"I've just been focused on managing my injuries to get back for the Storm and now we've got one game to go."
