Inmate dies in his cell at WA prison

A 26-year-old man has died in his cell at Hakea Prison in Perth, prompting an internal review by the Department of Justice.

A 26-year-old inmate has died after he was found alone and unresponsive in his cell at Hakea Prison in Perth.

It happened on Easter Sunday and the prison superintendent has offered his condolences to the man's family.

Police are preparing a report for the coroner, while the Department of Justice is conducting an internal review.
