Inmate 'threatens to kill' NSW prison boss

An inmate accused of supporting Islamic State has been charged with threatening to kill NSW prisons boss Peter Severin.

An alleged Islamic State sympathiser has been charged with planning a terrorist attack from inside one of Australia's most secure jails.

Bourhan Hraichie, 19, stands accused of writing a letter threatening to kill NSW prisons boss Peter Severin.

Hraichie was moved to Goulburn's SuperMax prison in April after allegedly carving an IS slogan into his cell mate's forehead and pouring boiling water onto the man's face at another NSW jail.

Hraichie was on Wednesday charged with two terrorism-related offences as well as threatening to kill a person after materials were seized from the southern NSW prison where he is now being held.

The teenager's case on the fresh charges is set to be heard at Sydney's Central Local Court next month.
