Inquest hears deaths 'harsh reality' of sieges

A British counter-terrorism specialist says Australians need to accept that people are likely to be killed when police intervene to end a siege.

Detective Senior Constable Simon Chesterman has told the Sydney siege inquest it's the harsh reality of such situations.
