Intern program good for youth: business

Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry boss James Pearson believes the government's PaTH program will do young people nothing but good.

A leading business group is struggling to understand why unions are opposed to the Turnbull government's new internship program, arguing it will provide valuable experience for young job seekers.

Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry boss James Pearson says the PaTH program will provide participants with experience in the workplace such as learning how to turn up on time, safety procedures, and getting on with other people.

"It will do young people nothing but good," Mr Pearson told Sky News on Sunday.
